A Missouri woman captured this incredible photo of a phenomenon that has been dubbed a “firenado” while she was driving down a country road near the town of Chillicothe last weekend.

“This had to be the coolest/scariest thing I’ve ever seen,” Janae Copelin wrote on her Instagram page. “A farmer burning off his field and as we stopped so I could take a picture the wind whipped up this fire twister.” According to The Weather Channel, sights like this are more common than you might think: ‘Firewhirls turn and burn. They are rapidly spinning vortices that form when air superheated by an intense wildfire rises rapidly, consolidating low-level spin from winds converging into the fire like a spinning ice skater, pulling its arms inward.’

The typical firewhirl can grow to about 100 feet tall, but is very narrow, on the order of a couple of feet wide. Via ‘Firenado’: Wind Whips Up Wicked Whirl in Missouri Field

Only God could create something like this. There is no scientific explanation for this, so it had to be a work of the Lord. Either he was angry with the truck owner or somebody else in the vicinity. I hope they repented. God destroyed New Orleans because of the gay things there and He will destroy anything or anybody who sins and breaks His commandments.

Wow! True colours James. I particularly loathed the line, “God destroyed New Orleans because of the gay things there”. On what authority do you get this information? Does God speak to you directly? Are you a schizophrenic? All those people that lost their jobs, homes and lives and you blame it on God, just to try and frighten people into acting according to your own warped beliefs. Its people like you that give truly caring religious people a bad name. No wonder more people have lost their lives through religion than any other deliberate action by humans. Well done James! I hope you repent.

Brilliant Naan, well said. I hope James does repent, otherwise he might find a firenado up his ass.
