Real Hot Wheels Cars

For every kid who has ever played with Hot Wheels, this video is like a crazy dream come true.

Drivers Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy conquered the 60-foot double loop over the weekend at the X Games in Los Angeles. As this video explains, to achieve this feat without killing themselves, the drivers had to hit a speed between 48 mph and 52 mph and the cars were outfitted with extra-stiff suspension and the tires were inflated to 80 psi — 60% more than normal.

At that speed, the drivers hit a force of 7G’s. Foust and Tracy prepared for the stunt by subjecting themselves to tests in military planes at that G-force level. However, when the drivers reached the top of the loop, they were actually experienced 0 G’s –in other words they were defying gravity.
